What makes our coffee superior?
All of our coffee has a cup profile of at least 83. The cupping profile of coffee is an objective way to measure the taste of your cup of coffee. Coffee is ranked using a scale of 0-100. Any coffee with a coffee profile below 60 is not considered "specialty." You can be sure that you are getting a premium roast with all of our coffee. Some of the measures used to profile the coffee include body, acidity, fragrance, and aftertaste.
Where is our coffee from?
All of our coffee is sourced directly from small, family owned farms in different regions of Colombia. This picture is provided to us by El Cipres Coffee farm in the Caldas region of Colombia, one of the farmers we source our coffee through. After it is brought to Canada, we get it roasted locally in our hometown in Manitoba. This ensures the highest quality coffee beans and the freshest roast possible.
About Us
Javier Vargas is the brainchild behind Café Y Vida. Born in a small town in Colombia, Javier grew up immersed in the world of agriculture. After immigrating to Canada with his family in 2002, one of the things Javier missed the most about Colombia was fresh, authentic coffee. He wanted to be able to bring a fresh cup of coffee to southwestern Manitoba and beyond and give back to the country he came from. All of our coffee comes from small, family owned farms from different regions in Colombia. Each region has its own different taste and texture and we really want this to come out in every cup of coffee. All of our coffee is shipped as green beans and is roasted in our hometown of Souris, Manitoba to your taste preference.
